For our office in Mambele, we are looking for a Logistics Intern to support the WWF/Jengi-TNS Programme.

Mission of the Department:

WWF has maintained an effective presence in the area since 1995, when it created the Jengi South East Forest Programme. The Programme subsequently evolved into the current Jengi Tri-National de la Sangha (TNS) Programme which supports the LNP and its peripheral zone in wildlife conservation, contributing to the well-being of local people and the sustainable management of natural resources through a landscape approach in partnership with the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife, the Foundation for the Tri-National de la Sangha (FTNS).

FTNS supports the PNL and its peripheral zone through the following annual work programmes:

Programme 1: Administration and infrastructure development;

Programme 2: Protection;

Programme 3: Participatory management and sustainable development;

Programme 4: Research, ecological and socio-economic monitoring;

Programme 5: Transboundary cooperation.

Major functions:

The Logistics Intern will contribute, under the supervision of the Logistics Assistant, to the implementation of Programme 1, and support the achievement of the overall mission of the Jengi-TNS Programme as required. In line with WWF Cameroon's vision of a future with healthy ecosystems and flourishing biodiversity supporting people and sustainable development in Cameroon, the mission of the Jengi-TNS Programme is to halt the decline of biodiversity, reverse the negative trend and contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of local communities and indigenous peoples (Baka).

Major duties:

       Contribute to the delivery of all program results 1 ;

       Collect goods from vendor’s places ;

       Support the Logistics Assistant in purchasing goods and services making sure that the right details are provided to the service providers ;

       Collect proformas and invoices, according to the needs of the office ;

       Assist the logistics Assistant with administrative tasks, fuel consumption analysis, review of stock cards for consumables, review of replenishment report of fuel and consumables as assigned ;

       Collect information on vehicle usage, to prepare cost recovery on different projects ;

       At the request of the Logistics Assistant, liaise with suppliers ;

       Ensure that requisitions for services or material are duly approved before processing ;

       Draw up purchase orders in the system, in line with the needs of the requestors ;

       Prepare official/private vehicle usage bills ;

       Ensure data entry in the system to generate statistics ;

       Prepare monthly statistical reports on office vehicles ;

       Assist in the filing of travel documents for staff according to the project ;

       Assist in Organizing logistics for meetings (focal point for venue bookings, etc…) and workshops ;

       Liaise with users/customers in order to organize reception of goods ;

       Assist in the monitoring of all processing logistics matters with the relevant interlocutors to ensure proper operation of the Cameroon Country Office (CCO) ;

       Assists with hotel reservations for WWF staff and consultants as requested by supervisors ;

       Collect relevant data for socio-economic monitoring ;

       Contribute to ensuring program compliance with technical and financial reporting and monitoring/evaluation requirements;

       Perform any other tasks, as assigned by the CDO, in relation to the communities and in accordance with WWF policies.

Profile :

     Required Qualifications

       2 / 3 years’ undergraduate level in Logistics.

       At least one year of progressive professional experience in Logistics (in an international NGO).

     Required Skills and Competencies

       Proficiency on travel and hotel reservations ;

       Excellent organizational and prioritization competence with attention to details ;

       Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative and work independently ;

       Excellent team player with good networking and interpersonal skills ;

       Results oriented, delivers quality service and in a timely manner ;

       Trustworthy: establishes a relation of trust with employees through openness, adherence to commitments and maintain confidentiality ;

       Excellent computer software mastery especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word ;

       Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely in French and English ;

       Adhere to WWF’s values: Collaboration, Courage, Respect and integrity .

Mission du département :

Le WWF maintient une présence effective dans la région depuis 1995, date à laquelle il a créé le programme Jengi South East Forest. Le programme a ensuite évolué pour devenir l'actuel programme Jengi Tri-National de la Sangha (TNS) qui soutient le parc National de Lobeke (PNL) et sa zone périphérique en matière de conservation de la faune, contribuant au bien-être des populations locales et à la gestion durable des ressources naturelles par le biais d'une approche paysagère en partenariat avec le Ministère des Forêts et de la Faune, la Fondation pour le Tri-National de la Sangha (FTNS).

La FTNS soutient le PNL et sa zone périphérique à travers les programmes de travail annuels suivants :

Programme 1 : Administration et développement des infrastructures ;

Programme 2 : Protection ;

Programme 3 : Gestion participative et développement durable ;

Programme 4 : Recherche, suivi écologique et socio-économique ;

Programme 5 : Coopération transfrontalière.

Fonctions principales :

Le /la Stagiaire Logisticien (ne) contribuera, sous la supervision de l'Assistant Logistique, à la mise en œuvre du programme 1, et soutiendra la réalisation de la mission globale du programme Jengi-TNS selon les besoins. Conformément à la vision du WWF Cameroun d'un avenir avec des écosystèmes sains et une biodiversité florissante soutenant les populations et le développement durable au Cameroun, la mission du programme Jengi-TNS est d'arrêter le déclin de la biodiversité, d'inverser la tendance négative et de contribuer à l'amélioration des conditions de vie des communautés locales et des peuples autochtones (Baka).

Tâches principales

       Contribuer à la réalisation de tous les résultats du programme 1 ;

       Collecter les marchandises chez les fournisseurs ;

       Soutenir l'Assistant Logistique dans l'achat de biens et de services en veillant à ce que les bons détails soient fournis aux prestataires de services ;
