Among other conventional financial products like savings accounts and current accounts with a diversity of suitable and adaptable loan products, UNICS Plc has significantly invested  in the development of value added services like Automated Teller Machines and international Bank Cards, bank to wallet account link , Online Banking, SMS Banking, Virtual Private Network, and many others. For the past 23 years UNICS Plc has been able to position itself as one of the fastest growing financial institutions in Cameroon with well-developed products tailored to the needs of the public.

To reinforce the Business Team at the branches, UNICS Plc is seeking applications from full-time suitable candidates for the Position of a Marketing and Public Relation Officer who will be ready to work at the Head Office in Yaounde.  

Overall Responsibility:

The Marketing and Public Relation Officer will work in collaboration with the Head of Business Development Department, in directing the overall marketing and strategic planning programs and corporate communications. Facilitate client development through marketing, client services programs, monitors publicity and conducts research to find out the concerns and expectations of stakeholders.    

 Key Responsibilities:

This role is a critical success factor for the smooth operation of the Business Development Department and the attainment of its goals, as well as building and maintaining a sustainable and reputable image of the company.

In order to successfully achieve the purpose of this role, the Marketing and Public Relation Officer will:

·       Implements strategies to realize objectives in various domains as indicated by hierarchy and in accordance with the Institution’s overall plan especially as concerns:

    Significant growth in funds mobilisation;

    Customer Portfolio growth and diversification;

    Customer satisfaction and retention, etc.

·       Develops and administers marketing database for the network which includes client and prospect information, mailing list applications, access to financial reports;

·       Compile lists describing product or service offerings;

·       Uses sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends;

·       Contributes to the development of new products

·       Looks for partners and potential investors/funders.

·       Ensuring regular UNICS media presence via various outlets;

·       Sourcing sponsorship opportunities;

·       Fostering community relations through events such as open days and through involvement in community initiatives;

·       Edit and update promotional material and publications (brochures, videos, social media posts etc.)

·       Track media coverage and follow industry trends

·       Prepare and deliver promotional presentations

·       Write marketing literature (brochures, press releases etc) to augment the company’s presence in the market

·       Communicate directly with clients and encourage trusting relationships

Experience Requirements:

The Job requires the following skills and abilities:

ü To have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Law or any related fields.

ü To have at least three years of experience in a managerial position. Experience in a Financial Institution is an added advantage;

ü Ability to work efficiently and deliver under pressure; 

ü Strong communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to build rapport, actively listen, and communicate effectively with clients at all levels.

ü Excellent communication and negotiation skills

ü Bilingual:  Exceptional ability to communicate in English and French verbally and in writing, with good presentation skills.

ü Experience in the Microfinance or banking sector is of added advantage.

ü Excellent organizational and leadership skills
